((Apologies for the OOC post but I wanted to share this -
I've been playing Elder Scrolls Online lately (I know, I'm a traitor). Awhile back after completing a group event, someone from the event sent me a friend request. They seemed friendly enough, so I accepted.
Then yesterday, they sent me a whisper asking me if we could meet up in game to say hi. I said sure, although I thought it was a bit of an odd request. We met up at the local wayshrine and lo and behold: they started RPing! Naturally, I responded in character.
I wondered though, why did this person want to RP with me? The group event was combat-based, not a roleplay event. I thought back to that group event where we met, and remembered I'd been playing the lute before it started, and joking on my character that my pet pig and I had a traveling band. I realized that yep, I'd pretty much been informally RPing and didn't even remember that.
TL;DR version: you Feathermoonies have trained me well. I auto-RP during idle time in MMOs.))
